Here at Callaghan Sash Windows we manufacture all windows in our own custom built factory. We design new windows to suit the clients needs as each client has different priorities when it comes to choosing their windows. These priorities can vary from being eco-friendly, adhering to conservation principles and also minimising heat loss to name but a few.
We pride ourselves on the fact that we take the time to sit down and meet our clients to evaluate what they are looking for in their new windows.
When this is decided upon we then advise the client what style and type of window will suit their needs best.
Our finished window is an Eco Friendly product designed bearing in mind traditional sash window values combined with modern day draught proofing and glazing systems making your home more energy efficient.
The options on styles of windows we manufacture are limitless.
Timber
We use a variety of timbers but if hardwood is required we recommend Sapele mahogany or Iroko teak because of their durability and clean smooth finish. If softwood is required we would use a selected Scandinavian pine.
Glazing
When it comes to glazing we use both double and single glazing, again depending on the clients requirements. The glazing bars we use range from 18mm to 32mm depending on your requirements and type of glazing required. In recent times we have brought in a double glazed unit from the U.K. called “Slimlite Glass”. This allows for a narrower Georgian bar to be used in the double glazed windows which gives a more authentic look and visually gives a better appearance to the window.

Draught Proofing
To draught proof the windows we only use top of the range durable products which are high performance and long lasting. Our main seals used are Qlon seals and tubular seals as can be seen in the photographs. The advantage to these seals above others is that they can both be painted over and do not clog up with dirt and grime over the years. Again depending on your needs we are flexible with our draught proof systems and will advise.Ironmongery
We offer a variety of traditional and modern ironmongery be it chrome or brass. These can all be selected during consultation with you to suit your needs.
